The Realme 15 Pro Plus sits at ₹37,990 for what I’m assuming is the base variant, and frankly, that puts it in some serious competition territory. After spending time with phones in this range, I’ve learned to spot the difference between genuine value and marketing fluff. So, where does this one land?
The spec sheet looks promising on paper. You get a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset, and a 50MP main camera – all packed into what Realme claims is their photography flagship. But we’ve heard that story before, haven’t we?
Performance: The Dimensity 8100 surprise
Here’s where things get interesting. The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM, actually delivers smoother performance than I expected. Gaming sessions don’t stutter, multitasking feels natural, and there’s none of that annoying lag you sometimes get with mid-range processors trying to punch above their weight.
The 12GB+512GB configuration gives you plenty of room to breathe. No more deleting photos to install that new game or constantly managing storage. It’s one of those quality-of-life improvements that you don’t realize you need until you have it.
Display and build: Super AMOLED done right
The 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate is genuinely good. Colors pop without looking oversaturated, and outdoor visibility is solid. The 120Hz smoothness is there when scrolling through social media, though I wish more apps took advantage of it.
Build quality feels premium enough for the price point. It’s not iPhone-level craftsmanship, but it won’t feel cheap in your hand either.
Camera setup: Are all those megapixels actually useful?
This is where Realme went a bit overboard on paper. A quad rear camera setup with 50MP wide, 50MP telephoto, 50MP ultrawide, and another 50MP sensor sounds impressive until you realize that having four 50MP cameras doesn’t automatically equal four great cameras.
The main shooter performs well in good lighting, with sharp details, decent dynamic range. Portrait mode works better than most phones in this range. But those ultrawide shots? Still soft around the edges, and the telephoto, while functional, isn’t replacing your DSLR anytime soon.
Battery life: Where it shines
The 5700mAh battery with 120W Super charging is genuinely impressive. Full day usage with heavy social media, gaming, and photography? No problem. And when you do need to charge, that 120W fast charging means you’re back to 80% in about 20 minutes.

The honest verdict
Look, the Realme 15 Pro Plus isn’t revolutionary. But it’s competent. At around ₹38K, you’re getting solid performance, a good display, decent cameras, and excellent battery life.
Is it better than the OnePlus Nord or iQOO alternatives in this range? That depends on what matters most to you. If camera versatility and fast charging are priorities, this makes sense. If you want the cleanest software experience, maybe look elsewhere.
The 12GB+512GB combo specifically feels like the sweet spot – enough power and storage to keep you happy for at least two years without feeling like you compromised.
Not the most exciting phone I’ve tested this year, but not disappointing either. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
