Puri Rath Yatra 2021: The world famous Puri Rath Yatra 2021 also known as Rath Utsav is an annual event which is scheduled to begin in the coming week. However, the festival is held at the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, India. Three deities are worshiped on the day of the festival – Lord Balabhadra, who is the elder brother of Lord Jagannath; Subhadra, who is the sister of Lord Jagannath and Lord Balabhadra; and Lord Jagannath.

The journey usually begins on Dwitiya Tithi (second day), Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the Hindu month of Ashadha. Puri Rath Yatra 2021: Date and Tithi

Jagannath Temple is one of the four major pilgrimages of the Hindus which has immense religious significance. This year, Rath Yatra will be celebrated on Monday, July 12, 2021. Dwitiya Tithi starts at 07:47 on July 11, 2021 and ends at 08:19 on July 12, 2021.

Gundicha Yatra: July 12 (Monday)

• Pahandi : 8.30 am
• Chera Panhara: From 2 pm onwards
• Chariot Pulling: From 3 pm onwards

Bahuda Yatra: July 20 (Tuesday)
• Pahandi: 12 noon to 2.30 pm
• Chariot Pulling: From 4 PM

Heard Besha: July 21 (Wednesday)
• Rituals to be performed between 4 pm to 5:30 pm
Get Aadhaar: 22 July (Thursday)
• Rituals will be completed by 8 pm

Neeladri BJ: 23 July (Friday)
• Pahandi: Between 4 pm to 10 pm

However, the Odisha government has announced that devotees will be barred from participating in the annual Rath Yatra, which will be conducted only in Puri amid strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocol.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) PK Jena said the Odisha government has decided to impose similar restrictions as last year during the Rath Yatra to be held on July 12, 2021.
