Castile Soap, also known as olive soap, is a fine liquid soap which made using olive oil. Olive oil is a natural moisturizer and a great cleanser. It’s been used and made for hundreds of years. Now, it’s perfectly useable by most people, especially those with sensitive skins, such as babies and small children.
The very first olive soap was the Aleppo soap, produced in Syria, known as the original pure castile soap. It’s the soap of choice among those who are practicing Ayurveda, or traditional medicine, a system of medicine which aims to maintain or build up a healthy internal system through all the body’s systems. It’s a very effective cure for coughs and colds, as well as for cuts, bruises and burns. Although there are many different varieties and types of it, all have one thing in common: they are all made from pure castile soap, grown in the Mediterranean Basin, and not from anywhere else.
Because of this, there is a great demand for this kind of natural cure products. Ayurvedic doctors highly recommend the use of such products, especially the Dr. Shikakai product. That’s because castile soap helps fight numerous infections, such as psoriasis, herpes, cold sores, flu and other viruses. In addition, it improves skin quality and appearance, making it feel softer and smoother. It also promotes good digestion and reduces risks for colon cancer and other digestive diseases. There are many ways in which it can be used effectively.
The soap has a unique property, known as “humectant”. It makes the skin soft by penetrating deeply into the pores, which makes the treatment more potent. It soothes and moisturizes the skin while simultaneously fighting against bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms. The ingredients that make up this type of soap include organic olive oil, various herbal oils and castile soap powder.
Castile soaps can either be purchased in liquid form or in bar or compact form. Both types are relatively cheaper compared to ordinary commercial soaps, but both have their own unique properties and advantages. Castile soaps are usually preferred over other kinds of soaps, because they’re absorbed faster by the skin than other types of soaps. This is mainly the reason why Dr Shikakai originally introduced this kind of soap into the world.
Apart from using pure castile soap, Dr. Shikakai also recommends a number of other natural treatments, including a diet rich in vitamins C and E. Aside from that, he also suggests regular exercise, relaxing and eating right. The best way to combat stress, he says, is to take a long hot bath each day. Another useful treatment method that he suggests is to massage the scalp with a combination of milk and olive oil, which is said to stimulate the hair follicles. Regularly washing the face is also suggested, as this removes dead skin cells and prevents premature graying. It is also believed that drinking a lot of water can help keep the skin looking young and fresh, although this has not been proven.
To make his Castile Soap, Dr. Shikakai takes vegetable oil, cucumber, bay leaves, dried tomatoes and garlic from his herb garden. He then grinds them to a fine paste. Next, he adds aloe vera, Rosemary, rosewater, lavender, henna, and a touch of glycerin to make his soap liquid. All these ingredients, plus a few more, are boiled in a pot over boiling water for twenty minutes. The resulting soap liquid is then added to water, rolled into small balls, and then rinsed off completely.
After using this soaps, one should always keep in mind that they are made from natural ingredients and thus are not supposed to be added with any other chemicals or harsh ingredients. It is a good idea to read the label on the Castile Soap jar before purchasing it. Some Castile Soap brands contain coconut oil or olive oil, which can actually be beneficial to your skin. However, there is no research available on the direct effect of these two ingredients on the skin. So, before using Castile Soap, it is important to make sure it does not contain any harmful chemicals.
