What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of natural and holistic health. This word of Sanskrit origin is formed from the combination of two metals – Ayuh + Veda (“Ayu” means long life (life) and “Veda” means science). Therefore, the literal meaning of Ayurveda is the science of life.

These doshas have an effect not only on a person’s physical structure but also on his physical tendencies (such as food selection and digestion) and his mind and emotions. For example, people of Kapha prakriti are overweight, their digestion is slower than other prakruti humans, their sharp memory and emotionally stable in them are due to the predominance of the earth element. There is a combination of any two doshas in the nature of most of the people. For example, in a person with Pitta-Kapha nature, the effect of both Pitta and Kapha doshas is seen, but the predominance of Pitta dosha is seen. With the understanding of our physical structure and the knowledge of nature, we can take necessary steps towards balancing these elements and keeping ourselves healthy.
